Jasmin me n mike finished of ur maps and skip, so no worries on that hun! all we have to do now is meet check stuff is working and build our boards im pretty sure wat we need to do for them tho n ill write it down l8r today n get a general layout to how i think they shud look n ill get u thoughts next time we meet i think they are pretty much...
board a) slimed down version of our mind map (on the massive piece of paper)
board b) board showing what is in the website.. wat u find out etc
board c) site map
i reckon if we use our illustration theme over the boards we would have a really good link to our website and will help explain it when we have to speak in front of the class

This is the skip that we decided to use, I have put all the objects we will be looking at into the skip instead of the previous skip I posted where many items were present..

JASMIN

These are something like what the maps would like once the background has been added in, some more developments can then be made to them...

JASMIN

These are the maps I produced to use on the website, there is a map for plastics, metals, textiles, paper, and glass, showing where the recycling points for each one are situated in Nottingham. I have just used the road names for the map and put in illustrations similar to the ones we have used for the other web pages....hpe u like them

JASMIN

these two are the other skip ideas i produced...

JASMIN

This is one of the skips i produced.

JASMIN

guys founf out how to link pages in dreamweaver, its pretty easy once u work it out, all i need now is all the pages and we should b done. you have to create the slices in image ready first then u add the file link to the slice from that particular page to the next one anyways if u give me all the pages then its pretty easy for me to create the rollovers and the links to each other. jas have u done the map and the skip page?

Nope it didnt work didnt think so

MIKE

ok its now ten to three in the mornin and after about 8 odd hrs ive finally cracked it dunno how to post it and didnt know what text to use but to edit that will b well easy...

gonna see if this works

file:///private/tmp/501/Cleanup%20At%20Startup/ImageReady/TargetPreview13/CAN%20BANK8.htm#

yay finally managed the rollover!!! i knew i hated all this computer shit for a reason tried to upload it but it doesnt want to do it!!!

MIKE

oh my god been workin on the fuckin rollovers for the past 6 hrs, still cant get it to work right i hate computers!!!!!!!!!

liking the page layouts guys, the illustrations used reely fits in with the skip that I produced, ill post it on the blog later, as i need to scan it in yet, iv also produced all the maps for where glass, paper, metal, plastic and textiles can be recycled using an illustartive style. I will also post these on the blog later! we need to put them up on the website too in the same format as the other pages that have been produced, so, if you show me how you used illustrator to create those pages, i can also make a start on getting the map pages sorted, or i can give them to you so you can use them the same way as the photo montages.....

MIKE

think maybe needs a bit more illustration, the one where ive cut into it was only becasue it had a sharp edge to it?

think the illustration at the bottom left needs a bit more too it o its a bit low see what u think dude?

MIKE

me likey maybe needs a bit more illustration, ill do some for the other one and see what we both come up with, defo set on the style, reckon we should do the drips on all?

MIKE

wat u recon to these m8??

CHRIS

love that m8!! alot! prefer the one without the other shade of green
CHRIS

By the way here are the codes for your green mate in case u wanna open it in diff applications and get the same clr

on the picker th number at the bottom will b: 2F8927

or PANTONE SOLID COATED 363 C

any good?

MIKE

mate if u hand draw the logo or finalise it can u post just tho logo on the blog then ill make it move, did u do all that in illustrator?

MIKE

like it a lot mate, athough reckon maybe the recycling logo should be hand drawn too? or at least have some hand drawn bits on it. i really like it tho mate , got good reviews from housemates too

MIKE

Problem solved?? click on the green and it will apear!

feel i have had a right break through here!! haha

wat do u think?

was thinkin for the skip doing it in the same kinda illustration style but with the different things incorporated, again hand drawn, then when u scroll over them the outline changes to a full clr pic, same shape etc then u click on it and go tp the next page?

any ideas on how to do the map?

MIKE

sweet well ive done two more, these are the pages ill do them for

cans
bottles green, clear and brown (separate one for each/or just one page for bottles)?
clothes and shoes
paper and card
newspapers - although reckon they fall under paper and card?

oh yeh and by the way that site that shows u where diff recycling points are is entirely correct i looked for two the other day that werent there at all

MIKE

dunno if theres too much in this. was thinkin that the logo would go in the top left o the page then the strings would go down the side linking in all the images and text etc, then at the bottom there would be a pile o clothes and a trainer on the end o the strings (laces) would get past jon sayin we had to incorporate text and image together cos it would link them all in and i could do the same for each category usings different typefaces found on that type o recycling bin then all we have to do is get the images?

MIKE

what do u think of the fill? ive got another one that i have drawn just posting that now lemme know

MIKE

Yeah guys ive got photoshop illustrator in design quark etc here so if theres anythin u want doin then let me know

MIKE

REELY LIKING THE TITLE FONTS MIKE....LOOKS GOOD!! butterfly idea seems good, i hvnt gt photoshop but will go to the library to work on the rest of the photo montages and the logo's!! Try and load each image at a time chris, mayb it wil work then!

JASMIN

well im doing the titles for the pages in the same kind o style, bit more illustrative tho ill post in a bit,

ok guys i cant seem to post ne of my images.. but we have a lecture 9-10 on monday, i say straight after that we meet in the mac room at 10 so we can start building are website we will have to stay in till 5 and then do the same thing the following day and maybe wednesday as well.. by monday we need all the photomontages done and sum good ideas 4 the layout/look of the website.. hate to be an ass whipper.. but our ass's need whipping!

hmm dont no y that didnt work.. newya all 5 are done will try post them again l8r
i also have this photograph which i recon will make a really nice faded background 4 the website duno if either of u have photoshop u cud maybe tweak it about abit.. get rid of the balck and make it white so we have the butterfly logo and 2 stripes runnin horizontally across the page?? wat u think?? in tutorials there was alot about keepin the back ground simple!!

YO guys all my photomontages are done.. as below post yours up so i canhave a look please??

really liking the wording u have done there mike really fits in with our photomontages!!

CHRIS

YEAH, it will be too much work if we use all the recyclable materials so we'l just use the main ones... im doin a few ideas we could use...

JASMIN

just an idea for a title for the clothes and shoes segment?

gonna work a bit more but thought it would look nice on a white b/ground might try to incorporate green into it aswell?

MIKE

Yeah loving the idea babe although i thought we could break down the amount of things top recycle as some of the metal asbestos and other less easily recyclable items have to either be specially disposed of or you have to take it to a special household recycling place and the nearest one of them is by the showcase cinema in lenton in which case as they are few and far between it will b hard to make a map off notts as there are none in the city centre?

MIKE

Go to http://www.recycle-more.co.uk/banklocator/banklocator.aspx to see all of the recycling points in Nottingham that recycling the items I listed before.

JASMIN

i have another idea for the homepage guys, we could use the image of a skip (preferably birds eye view) as a background so all the items that are in the skip can be seen with the items that can be recycled standing out from the rest of the items, or even blended in with the others so when the mouse goes over them it is a rollover and can be clicked on. This would be quite kool as the user would have to find the links themselves. The point to this would be that if the user wanted to find out for example where green bottles can be recycled they would click on the green bottle and the list of where they can be recycled would show up, or even be directed to a map. Iv found a list of all the things that can be recycled:

Asbetos, Batteries, Building Rubbish, Cars and Vehicles, Cartons (Tetra Pack), CDs and DVDs, Chemicals, Paints, Oils, Electronics, Furniture, Glass, Medical waste, Metals, Paper and Cardboard, Plastic, Textiles, Timber and Wood!!

Images of these are needed, which I will look for, or even hand drawn pictures could look quite effective as mixed media would have been used!! I found this list of items from

http://www.recycle-more.co.uk/nav/page549.aspx

I have taken a photo of a skip which is near our Uni, bt it isnt a birds eye view, but we could work on it or find an image which is alrwady avalable....... wt do u guys think???

JASMIN

i reely like the idea of using the recycling symbol as a map with the red circles showing where the different recycling points in nottingham are. Mayb they could flash red and when clicked on all the recycling points in that area show up and the list of all the things that can be recycled there show up! The recycling point that I went and had a look at was base 51. I have attached photos that I took of this point, there are a few others but Mike has already mentioned them in his post.

JASMIN

yeah man we need 2 meet n find see what weve all got! VISUALS, VISUALS, VISULAS come on guys..

http://www.recycle-more.co.uk/banklocator/banklocator.aspx?b=ng7%206bd

this is the link for the site where you can find your nearest recycling centre reckon if we do say 3 each we'll have enough, dunno if uve done this already but if u havent heres the link anyways

MIKE

Maps of the areas round my house where i have taken pics dunno if we need any more?

MIKE
